Around 30 of us gather together each Sunday for an hour of worship and teaching, followed by fair trade filter coffee. In contrast to our Evening Youth Service, the morning congregation consists of mostly more mature Christians. A small number of children attend, accompanied by their families, so a Creche is available when needed and chidren from five onwards are invited to share in Sparks (Sunday School). Like all Methodist Churches, we have a range of visiting preachers who provide a good variety of service styles and messages. By and large though, the services are of a traditional nature with hymns and songs, old and new accompanied by organ or piano accompaniment. Communion is celebrated at least once a month. Fellowship is an important part of our meetings so we always serve coffee (with cream), tea and a selection of chocolate biscuits afterwards - not that we're trying to bribe you or anything! |
